INSTALLATION

STEP 1: Site Evaluations and Free Estimate

We will come out to your site and consult with you to create your own unique design. We offer a large selection of colors, patterns, and textures to choose from

We will also give you an approximate date when installation of your new curbing can be done.

*Please note: There must be access to an outside tap for water supply. Please leave at least 30-35ft near the front of house for us to park our truck and trailer during the installation. We will park there for the duration so move any vehicles that you don’t want blocked in as it is difficult for us to move once set-up.*

STEP 2: Ground Preparation

On installation day, the area to be curbed is marked with spray paint or string. Any existing sod in the marked area will be removed quickly and easily with our sod cutter and placed in an area designated by you for your own removal of this excess sod.

STEP 3: Concrete Mixing and Extrusion

The concrete is mixed on site in a mixer which is mounted onto our trailer. Then it is wheelbarrowed to the curb machine which extrudes the concrete into a continuous seamless curb.

STEP 4: Finishing

The curb is immediately hand-trowelled for a smooth finish. Any stamping or texturing, if requested, is done at this point.

Expansion, or control joints are also cut into the curb in order to control the seasonal expansion and contraction process.

STEP 5: SEALING

Colour and stamped curb is the sealed with 2 coats of “Cure and Seal” sealer. This sealer is used as a primer coat.A Gloss coat should be applied within a year to protect the colour and accent colour from fading.

You can purchase a commercial quality gloss sealer at UNICON CONCRETE located at 11740-156st Edmonton.

THE CURBING PROCESS IS FAST AND EFFICIENT, WITH MOST JOBS COMPLETED IN 1-2 DAYS, “WEATHER-PERMITTING”.
